Review the Pre-Op Process for Our Weight Loss Program

My New Beginning, a weight loss program at My New Beginning, has a process designed to help the prospective patient navigate through before the actual weight loss surgery.

Our team is available to help verify insurance benefits and determine the criteria your provider requires before approving the surgery. If cash pay options are desired, we can discuss your options.

Before you have weight loss surgery, you will need to undergo several pre-operative tests and evaluations. Here’s what you can expect in the weeks leading up to your surgery…

In addition to a complete medical history, your physician may request certain diagnostic screenings based on your medical history and the surgery that will be performed. You will also have bloodwork done. In some instances, a clearance from other specialists like a cardiologist will be required.

You’ll be asked to undergo a psychological evaluation to make sure you understand the responsibilities and expectations for life after bariatric surgery and to ensure there are no issues that could interfere with your long-term success.

You’ll meet with a registered dietitian who will discuss the dietary changes that will begin prior to your surgery. The dietitian will also do an evaluation and discuss eating habits, your support system and identify any roadblocks to making lifestyle changes.

Insurance companies have very different and specific prerequisites. We are happy to meet with you and discuss these qualifications for bariatric surgery.
